THE TOP 5 TRENDS OF 2022
This season the Runway was full of ‘everything’, literally.
From Grecian looks at Loewe, to low-low-low waist mini skirts at Miu Miu.
From a music festival at Balmain, to a ‘The Simpsons’ episode for Balenciaga.
Fashion month sure did not fail us after this long disconnect since the pandemic.
Nonetheless, these trends definitely stood out between the rest, let’s review them below.
We are firm believers that not every trend is a good trend, however, you follow based on your style.
The (Beige) Trench:
The basic, wardrobe staple, beige trench was anything but basic this season. From paint splatters, to cutouts, this wardrobe must-have has taken a twist. Designer brands like Balenciaga, These Magugu and Burberry opted for a different interesting take on the trench.
The Mini-Skirt Suit:
The 60s staple; the mini-skirt suit! Although it had been introduced by Dior in 1961, this suit still remains as modern as a skirt suit can be. Replace your classic pant-suits from your wardrobe this season with the runway’s top mini-skirt suits from Houses such as Chanel and Christian Dior.
The Low-Low-LOW Waist:
Midriffs everywhere! Yup, it’s back! The 90’s trend we all went through and experienced, the extremely (almost R-rated;)) low waist pants/skirt. Designers like Miu Miu who based the entire collection on low waist and shrunken mini skirts, as well as Versace, Missoni and many more. I guess we better start working on our abs!
Colors from the Brightest Sunset:
The shades of the sun during its beautiful sunset took over the runway this season. From Proenza Schouler to Chloe, many designers opted for solar shades like burnt orange, gold, bronze and marigold and we love it! Nothing says summer like the colors of the most gorgeous sunset while relaxing by the beach.
STRIPES, STRIPES, STRIPES!
Black & white, red & white, or any other stripes combo was dominant in many shows this Spring. Personally, stripes and color-blocking are some of our favorite looks. Marni, Tory Burch and Schiaparelli were some of the top designers going all out with their stripes.
